FAQs

Can these doors be used as entrance doors?

No – This door system is only intended to be used for exit and outswing doors currently utilizing a hollow metal door.

Are these doors ballistic-rated?

These doors have not been tested to any ballistic standards.

What sizes are available?

Standard 36 in. x 84 in. 18-gauge steel doors are available. Custom sizes are also available with slightly longer lead time.

Are custom colors available?

Custom colors are available at an additional charge and extended lead time. There is a limited warranty on the finish.

How much does the door weigh?

The door weighs approximately 250 lbs.

Will I need additional structure / support for the weight?

Not typically. We will perform a site assessment before determining whether additional pre-work is necessary.

Can it replace double doors?

Yes. We can install two doors with a center mullion — either fixed or removable as required. Existing center mullions (if applicable) will be replaced by QMi for our mullion product.

Is the door compatible with my current alarm system?

Yes, though we recommend that your alarm provider be present during the installation.

Is the door fire-rated?

While the core door is fire-rated, the overall system is not. We are working on fire rating the overall system at this time.
